Bucherer demonstrates its innovative capacity with the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral – a true master-piece with floating tourbillon. The CFB T3000, a unique movement developed entirely in-house, is a world first that combines a peripheral automatic winding system and a peripherally mounted tourbillon that appears to float. Further highlights are the stop-seconds function of the tourbillon cage and the COSC-certified chronometer move-ment. TOURBILLONTHE CFB T3000 MANUFACTURE MOVEMENTIts function is to offset the variances caused in the mechanisms drift of a mechanical watch. Because of the differing positions of a watch on the wrist, gravity affects how fast or slow the balance wheel moves. To minimize this influence, a rotating cage was created to house the balance wheel. This device allows the balance wheel and the drag to work against each other. That makes them inde-pendent of the position of the watch.More than 200 years ago, the development of the tourbillon provided an ingenious solution for a technical problem that had previously impacted the accuracy of a watch. Pocket watches of this era were usually nestled in the waistcoat pockets of their owners, which caused them to always be carried upright. It was therefore decided to house the balance wheel in a rotating cage and refer to it as a tourbillon – a French word that translates to "whirlwind." This delicate regulator continues to fascinate enthusiasts to this day with its micromechanical complexity and constructive brilliance.
